Attendance

Portree High School

Good school attendance is essential to ensure that our students achieve their highest potential.

Regular attendance in school is one of the key ways to ensure that pupils fulfil their potential.  We are using a new attendance protocol in Portree High School this session.  It involves sending letters home if attendance falls below a certain percentage.

If the absences continue without reasonable explanation then a Children’s Services Worker may visit to establish reasons for non-attendance and offer support to improve attendance.

If your child is absent, please telephone the school on the day to report this.

Absence notes must EITHER be sent in and placed in the drop-box at reception, OR emailed to portreehigh.absence@highland.gov.uk

Please ensure that you put:

• Your child's name and form class

• Your full name

• Date(s) of absence

• Reason for absence
